Property Mangement

About Property Management

Property Managers are often regarded as the backbone of a real estate office. Their job is to control and execute the relationship between a landlord and a tenant. This is a wonderful job for those wanting a rewarding and varied work life. Often a Property Manager will find themselves in the open air, showing prospective tenants their latest offering and return to the office in order to process information collected on-site. Senior Property Managers will be asked to assist in finding new landlords in order to grow their offices rent roll.

The first thing a property manager requires is their Agent’s Representative Certificate in order to work in the state of Victoria. These generally (two week full time courses) can be done at the REIV or at many tertiary colleges such as Victoria University (VUT) with whom Sweeney’s have a training agreement. Speak to your local Sweeney office about details of your nearest VUT campus.

Property Managers are in some ways like sales people without the pressures of a fully blown sales career. Skills usually involve excellent computer skills (in order to drive many software programs), pleasant personal nature, organisational skills and the ability to mix with people from all walks of life.

After around three years experience a good property manager will find themselves skilled in an area of consistent high demand.

Because Sweeney insist on the best people in property, we generally pay in access of award remuneration.

Sweeney Estate Agents have the best family of highly trained individuals to help you learn your new profession, along with group training sessions provided by Sweeney Corporate.
